  • is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants
  • has studied for a minimum of seven years to achieve their professional qualification
  • has a professional qualification that is internationally recognised
  • is required to undertake on-going professional development
  • is bound by the Institute's code of ethics and professional standards
  • must complete further requirements to obtain a Certificate of Public Practice and offer services to the public
  • is then subject to three-yearly, rigorous reviews of professional standards and work completed
